News Release: Direct Trade Holds $7 Rate, No-Fees Policy

San Jose, California - September 18, 2007 - Direct Trade Futures today announced its plan to hold its $7.00 basic rate for standard “round trip” commissions on futures trades into 2008.  In addition, the company will extend its “no fee” policy with respect to trading platform licensing, news, quotes and research.

“The DIRECT TRADE business model has always matched the deepest discounts possible with no-compromise execution performance,” explained Omid Farr, president and founder of the brokerage.  “Although our $7.00 rate is no longer rock-bottom for the industry, we’re convinced it continues to offer investors the best execution value anywhere.”

Farr points to increased volatility, steeper volume spikes and cyber security threats as execution risks facing today’s traders.  “The past few months have shown us all how quickly market dynamics can change.  A series of natural disasters and the rapid disintegration of a leading brokerage created risks and opportunities, but left a lot of unprepared traders out scrambling for alternative ways to reach markets and get their trades executed.  Any one of them would have paid a little more for reliable execution.”

“Cyber security is another area I watch carefully,” says Farr.  “Around Super Bowl time every year, we read about demands for protection money from sports gaming sites backed by threats of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.  Cyber extortion hasn’t hit financial markets yet, but we’ve got to be ready.”

DIRECT TRADE leverages its Silicon Valley location to keep ahead of the technology curve on availability and cyber security.  “We maintain at least 40 times normal capacity in reserve,” explains Farr.  “What’s more, most of our Clients trade using our state-of-the-art desktop trading station - which is both faster and less vulnerable than using a public Web site.  And we’re constantly reviewing and upgrading our security posture.”

Farr concludes, “So our Clients are getting a lot of execution value at a great bargain rate - and we’re delighted to extend that value into 2008.”
